Have you read your summer reading books yet?

I bet you guys just had a heart attack at reading my title. Don't worry, it's only the middle of July. But then again, I read 2 meaty books, and I only have one left to read. HA! And people tell me I don't have time management skills. Me? 'Course not!
Then again, I'm sure one of you guys lost your list. Ah, well. You can try to find it on your schools website or you can ask a friend what books on the list they read/are reading and find the same ones. Just be sure that the friend has the right list, too.
And if your books aren't at the library... sucks to be you. You can go to a bookstore that has the book, and buy it. But if you don't necessarily want to buy it then you can take the book, sit down in a corner, and read it. Maybe you could just read a few chapters and then come back another day to finish.
Remember: It's better to read your summer reading books in June/July rather than the end of August. The earlier the better. And at the end of August, when you've probably forgotten the entire books you read, then use SparkNotes to refresh your memory. (Just type in the name of the book in the search). Trust me, don't rely mainly on SparkNotes. Actually read the book(s)!

The last report card of the year is always the worst

Sorry it's been about five days since I've posted. I'm still happy in the Cape, and I think I've tanned quite a bit. When I get back to school in September all the bitchy girls who try to tan (but totally can't) stare with jealousy at my hard-worked-on legs. Sweet.
Anyways, I'm sure some of you might be getting report cards soon, I believe? Well I just got mine, and I'm proud to say I only got one C, and it was a C+ even. Ha-ha, not actually something to be proud of, though. Don't worry, I'll do better next year in high school. Promise. How'd you guys do? Hope you guys did better than me, because I truly am a fail when it comes to academics. I'm trying to lose my ditzy status which I've acquired over the years. It's really quite sad.
So that's why I went on About.com. I just love that website. It helps with even the stupidest things, like questions about whether I feed my cat too much. I tried to find some sort of article that gave advice on how to do better in school, and I found it right here! (You can just click on the link and you'll be redirected to About.com, which for the record, I do not own in any way. I don't think they let stupid people run the webbie anyways). So if you want to do well in school, and want to get rid of being a school-fail like me, and even please your parents, then take a gander at that article. It actually gave good tips unlike other cheesy websites.
Ta ta for now my readers. Make a vow to do your best next school year. :)

SOMETHING FUN TO DO OVER THE SUMMER:
It's funny, because I was thinking about this the other day – make a blog. But not just any specific blog (like mine, which focuses on having a good time in school). Make a personal blog. I know that what I'm using, Blogger.com, offers an option where you can make a personal blog that no one else can access... like a diary! I just made one the other day, and it's amazing. I have an issue that a lot of you may have, too. Don't people always end up finding your personal handwritten journal? I can't tell you how many times my little sister or my mom or dad (and even my cat...) found my personal diary. It's annoying as hell because I can never find a place to hide it without someone eventually stumbling upon it and resulting in me crying myself to sleep for the next three months. I'm not even kidding. Have fun blogging.

Happy fourth of july '09

Hey guys. I'm here to briefly wish you all a very happy Fourth of July! Whether you're hanging with friends, family, or sketchy neighbors, I hope you have a great relaxing day. I'll be at the beach if you need me. Love you!

SOMETHING FUN TO DO OVER THE SUMMER:
Really guys? It's the Fourth of July! Find something fun to do. Just don't stay at home! Type in google "Fourth of July 2009 events [insert your state/town name here]." Maybe you can find some fireworks going on in your area. Remember your bug spray. The bugs are not kind this year.

Summer fling?

I understand that a lot of you... don't have very good luck with relationships during the school year. That's what summer is for! You can have a really relaxed relationship. Who wouldn't want that?
But then you wonder, "how can I get a summer fling?" Whether you're stuck at home, or across the country, or even in another continent, here's how you can have your own summer romance.
First, and most importantly, you need to ditch anyone who might get in your way. It may be your parents, siblings, or even your best friend. Just tell them that maybe you want to go to the beach alone or go on a roller coaster ride alone, or something like that.
Then, you need to find someone cute. It may be some guy/girl who's waiting in line to go on the ferris wheel alone, or someone who looks bored at the beach. Approach them with a friendly "hi" or "what's up?" Want to be more flirty? Don't be shy; just say what you think. "I couldn't help but notice you here alone and I wanted to know if your boy/girlfriend is as cute as you are." Don't forget to smile, and maybe even add a wink!
Start getting flirty and ask some questions about them, too. (Just to get the ball rolling). Then, if you decide you like this person, go in for the kill and ask them out on a date. You could say something like, "I hope I'll see you here tomorrow, and maybe we could ditch this place and do something more fun?" That way, it's less pressure than just saying, "do you want to come to my house at four?"

SOMETHING FUN TO DO OVER THE SUMMER:
Buy a snow cone machine and make snow cones! An easy alternative, if you don't have one is to crush ice in a blender, scoop it into a paper cone, and then drizzle some flavoring over it. Buy all sorts of flavors, like lime, lemon, pina colada, watermelon, or strawberry! Happy licking. A note to all my perverts: don't even think about saying "that's what she said."

Help! I'm bored

Nothing to do over the summer, eh? Not true anymore. I know I've been a little bored over the summer, too. I mean look at me, I'm writing a blog! That's why I'm here today to write a list of things you can do over the summer if you're not going anywhere.
  1. Go to a CVS or a grocery store with someone who you know is still here. Enough said. Good times at CVS. Not like that, though, you perverts! ;)
  2. Update your iPod and take a nice relaxing walk around the block. Your dog will get something out of it, too, if you bring him!
  3. Get your local newspaper or go on your town's website to see if any fun events are taking place. Who knows? I'm sure you'll find something.
  4. Beg your parents to drive you (and maybe a friend, too?) to a theme or amusement park. Even better – a water park! How can you not have fun there?
  5. Have a water balloon fight with your neighbors or siblings in your backyard. Trust me, it's more fun than it sounds!
I know however, that this is not enough to keep you going through the whole summer. So from now until the end of the summer, I'll try to attach a "Fun thing to do today!" segment. Just so you wont rot over the summer. Because I care. :)

Get fit over the summer

I believe that many of you probably are going to be doing sports. I know I signed up for the track team, and I need to get fit! The summer is a great time to practice before fall sports so you don't end up being the worst player on the team. Ugh! Been there, done that.
Take summer vacation as an opportunity. Practice with friends, family, cousins, your weird neighbor with seven cats, or even the mailman! I know I'll try to jog every morning to build up my endurance. What sport are you doing? Soccer? Lacrosse? Hockey? Baseball? Softball? Or maybe track, like me? Find the skill you need and find a way/place to practice it. For example, I'd be at a good advantage if I was doing soccer. I live right near a park with a soccer field!
So get out, and get active!

What if I don't like sports or don't want to sign up?
Ah, well you're missing out! Sports are a great way to work on cooperation and teamwork skills. You can even make some great friends who love doing the same thing that you do. Seriously consider it. Besides, some school's teams give out very cute sweatshirts/uniforms. You can show off to the world what sports you play.

What if none of my friends want to sign up for the sport I want to do?
I know it's cheesy, but seriously: follow your heart! Don't let your friends hold you back. Okay, so maybe the "popular" people are on the team, and you don't want to be alone. Trust me, they are not all heartless, and not many people are vicious to people on their own team when it comes to sports. Besides, and I said this before, you can make new friends, too.

I was supposed to sign up a while ago, and now it's too late. :(
Boo-hoo. It's still summer, people! Try e-mailing your guidance counselor or your principal to see if it really is too late. They can be a great help. You can find their e-mail addresses from friends or you can check your school's website. And if it really is too late (which I doubt it will be if you act ASAP) then there's always next season. You'll just have to wait 'till winter.

I hope I've inspired some of you guys to try out, or to get out there and practice for a sport instead of sitting here and reading blogs all day.

Create a list of things you did over the summer

Hey. You all can call me Sassy.
I know that most of you are here because you most likely don't like school, dread waking up to that screeching alarm every morning, and absolutely despise your Picture Day photo, am I not right?
Well so do I. If I have to hear my alarm ring one more time at 6:25 am, I am going to rip my hair out. My picture day photos are always butt-ugly, and you can usually see my bra. Whoops.
For my next four years of high school, and even my college years, I'm going to be going through my quest of making school rule, starting with the summer of '09. I'll give you guys tips and pointers along the way to help make your experience rule, too. Aren't I so caring? :)
One thing I'd like to start off with – something I learned in my middle school years – is that you should write a list of all the cool things you did over the summer that you wouldn't mind sharing in a classroom. Like going to California, or taking a Boston trip with your friends, like I did yesterday. Or maybe your dance recital or talking about your cool camp you went to for a month. Those kind of things! Then when your teachers ask you what you did over the summer in front of your entire English class you wont stand there like an idiot being like "oh, uh, I uh, like stayed home. I... watched TV and went on Facebook." No, no, no! That simply wont do. Make a list! (Towards the end of August, I'll share my list with you guys).
Anyways, this post is getting a bit meaty. Get to list making! I know I will be.
